A Communication Class for Parents and Children

This 10-week class is for youths between the ages of 7-17, and their parents and/or guardians. They learn the skills that reduce risk factors such as aggressive behaviors and substance abuse while also building resilience. This class has been proven to improve children’s pro-social behaviors, mental status, and grades and reduce aggression, violent behaviors, and substance use.

During this weekly class, parents and children engage in-person and learn communication and emotion management skills. An assigned case manager/teacher visits their home each week to help them use the skills they’ve learned in daily life in a proactive and positive atmosphere.
