| To Our Valued Volunteers: Catholic Social Services’ top priority is the health of clients, volunteers, and staff. With the confirmation of a COVID 19 case here in Anchorage, we are adjusting the way we serve clients and facilitate programs. As community advocates and loyal supports, we believe it is important our volunteers stay informed. Volunteer Update: For the protection and safety of clients and volunteers,CSS has made the difficult decision to temporarily suspend all onsite volunteer programming. Offsite volunteer programming remains active and up to each volunteer group’s discretion. We still encourage meals teams at Clare House and BFS. We will welcome back all our dedicated onsite volunteers once we are through this difficult time. Program Updates: Clare House and Brother Francis Shelter remain open and are serving guests. In-Home Care and Services will continue but with added safety precautions. Beginning Monday March 16, St. Francis House Food Pantry will convert to a fast track pantry, meaning clients will pick up a prepackaged box of food in St. Francis House. The RAIS Welcome Center in person classes and lessons are suspended. Other Ways to Help: In times of need and uncertainty, community support can be a beacon of hope. If you feel inclined to continue supporting CSS and our work, we are accepting limited donations. Currently, CSS needs the following: -Face masks -Hand sanitizer -Bleach -Hand soap -Boxes or new reusable bags -Gloves -Prepackaged Food -Financial donations We can no longer accept used items. All donated items must be unused and unopened. Donations can be dropped off at the CSS Main Center, Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out.
