You can support farmers with refugee backgrounds and hungry families at the same time through Grow Local, Give Local.
Each summer, FIG, Grow North Farm, and St. Francis House Food Pantry collaborate for our annual Grow Local, Give Local campaign. When you give to Grow Local, Give Local, your contribution purchases fresh produce from FIG and Grow North Farm entrepreneurs and donates it to St. Francis House Food Pantry, who distributes it to our neighbors in need. That means every dollar goes twice as far, providing both income to refugees and healthy food to families who need it.
Last year, Grow Local, Give Local raised more than $12,000, paying for more than 2,000 pounds of produce for the pantry to give out. “$12,000 in contributions to the Give Local Grow Local fund ensured that every household visiting the food pantry from July through October received produce grown by our neighbors,” says Claire, the Program Director of St. Francis House. “It really doesn’t get more local, nor more uplifting, than that. All of us at St. Francis House are so grateful to facilitate this gift.”
Thank you for supporting our community! Your gift provides vital help to those in need in our community.
