Special Needs Service
Special Needs Services was established in 1981 to provide care for individuals who experience developmental disabilities and offers a support system for their families. Trained providers care for consumers in the consumers' home or out in the community.
Your Gift Helps!
- $25 will provide dessert at the program's annual picnic that is held each summer for clients and caregivers.
- $50 provides an annual adult/child memberbship to the Anchorage Museum and the Imaginarium (opening in spring of 2010).
- $85 provides an annual pass to the Alaska Zoo to offer year-round recreation and entertainment to those in our care.
Did you Know?
- Special Needs Services served 163 consumers, providing 38,039 hours of direct care services during fiscal year 2009.
- 96.5% of caregivers surveyed reported a greater sense of stress relief due to receiving respite services.
