Clare House
Clare House provides temporary, emergency 24-hour shelter for women with children and expectant mothers (over 18). Residents receive daily meals and referrals for child care, substance abuse/mental health, affordable permanent housing, employment and continuing educational opportunities. Case management services are an integral part of the program to help women in their transition from homelessness to independent living.
Your Gift Helps!
- $10 will purchase three gallons of milk (Clare House residents consume 40 gallons a week).
- $30 will purchase 24 hours of safe and warm shelter, guidance and food for an expectant mother.
- $90 will purchase 18 new pillows that the residents take with them when they move into their own homes.
- $110 will purchase a month's worth of laundry soap.
- Clare House gratefully accepts donations of clean clothing and functioning household items.
Did You Know?
- 468 women with children and expectant mothers utilized 14,794 bed nights at Clare House during fiscal year 2009.
- 88.7% of adult residents met with a case manager to develop a service plan within the first 3 days of their stay.
